I love a good, sweet book and this one doesnt disappoint. I have to admit it wasnt quite what I expected. It follows Grace and Ian, starting from high school until three years after graduation, and it has a gritty realism to it. The emotion is well done and the characters are well painted, including some really great secondary characters.... I don't always know how to review books that are written by new authors, but I'll say that I applaud Ms. Oldham's boldness. The Falling of Love is at times sweet, at times dark, at times funny, and overall somewhat stark and singular -- which is a good thing. The point of view is quite consistent, which is one of the most difficult... So i read this book in one sitting (other than eating lol) simply because i couldnt put it down. I was so interested to see if Grace and Ian could make it as a couple and i really wanted them too........then Ian went off the rails and i soon realised maybe it wasnt ment to be.
