A very enjoyable biography of an important character in Saharan exploration. I read this to better understand who Count Laszlo Almasy was, not who he was loosly written as in Michael Ondaatje's novel The English Patient. I found this biography so intriguing- rich with African & European history and incredible discoveries. All set against the backdrop of the desert, a mysterious, silent, unforgiving desert. the movie would have been so much better if it had been about the real Mr. Almasy.
